GRANDCD29 Dr Feelgood: The Complete Stiff Recordings. Given that Stiff Records was started up initially with a loan from Lee Brilleaux, it seems anomalous that the Feelgood’s didn’t actually record for the label until the it was in decline in the 80s. This set, originally released in 2005, captures their 2 albums for the label - Brilleaux (1986) and Classic (1987). Lee leads the band through some fine material - including covers of songs by John Hiatt, Johnny Cash, Bobby Charles and even the Undertones - which, despite the dated 80s production sheen, offers up loads of toe-tapping highlights.
